                            TAG News -- 2nd Quarter, 1997
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
     ------ News that can't wait from the _AppleWorks_Gazette_ ------
=============================================================================

Dear TAG subscribers;

There's been an item missing from your mailbox lately, and it's
been The AppleWorks Gazette. For this I apologize, and would like
to explain what's happened, to both Chris and I.

In 1996, I was laid off when the company I was working for
folded, and I was then heavily involved in looking for full time
employment (an activity that I am still engaged in). I also
became involved with another American pasttime, running for
elected office, which took up much more time than I had thought
it would.

On Chris's part, he was out of France for part of the time also.

While I realize that we have an obligation to you, we did find
that the time had slipped by. In late January, Chris and I
finished up issue #4, and Chris was to have mailed it no later
than the middle of March.

That was the last I've heard from him. Attempts to contact him
via e-mail, 'snail-mail' and telephone have all failed. Chris and
I shared duties on different parts of TAG, and until the final
copy, we didn't share (as often as we should have) the work each
other was doing. And while I still have the material I was
responsible for regarding the 4th issue, I don't have the
substantial amount of work Chris had done.

I'm in the process of trying to recreate and redo the 4th issue.
It's my intention to continue TAG, even if it's on a solo basis.
So I'm asking for your patience and help. I _will_ be coming out
with the next issue within the next few weeks, and also ask that
if any of you wish to submit articles for publication, please do
so - there's a lot of room on an 800k disk.

I'm also going to be making a slight change to our previous
subscription policy; effective immediately, all subscribers who
signed up late and did not request and pay for back issues will
be sent copies of all back issues in order to bring their
subscriptions to date. All of you who DID pay for the back issues
will still have your subscriptions filled by the copies to be
issued after the 1st year/6 issues are done.

I apologize for not writing this sooner, but I've been more than
a bit preoccupied (as far as TAG is concerned) in finding out
what has happened to my partner. As soon as I know, I'll let you
know in the next possible edition.

Thanks for your patience and understanding in this matter!

Howard Katz
