David J. Kerwood Passed Away on Sunday, 8 October, 2006.

David J. Kerwood, of Doylestown, PA passed peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, October 8, 2006 at his home. He was 73.

He was the beloved husband of 52 years to Elisabeth [Eder] Kerwood.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Brinton and Catherine Voightsberger Kerwood and father of the late Linda J. Kerwood.

David was a student of Milton S. Hershey School and following his graduation in 1951 he enlisted into the US Army where he served in Germany during the Korean War. While in Germany he fell in love with Betty and married prior to returning to the United States after his honorable discharge in 1955. David was a graduate of LaSalle University Class of 1960.

David eventually resided in Philadelphia where David began a career in sales in the insurance business. He was a very successful in his career, winning many accolades for his accomplishments which provided him the luxury of visiting some of the world’s finest places.

With a large family, David and Betty moved several times to make room for the children and to provide a good life for their family. After leaving Philadelphia they moved to Cheltenham and then to Warminster where they lived for 17 years before settling in Doylestown in 1988. David was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who loved to spend time surrounded by all of his family.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children David (Bob) Kerwood and Patricia Delaney of Wickford, RI; Ronald and Elizabeth Kerwood of Perkiomenville, PA; Theresa and Scott Land of Mystic Island, NJ; Lorraine Kerwood and her partner Belle Ingham of Eugene, OR; Kenneth and Patricia Kerwood of Warminster, PA; Lawrence and Sandra Kerwood of Wrightstown, PA; Susan and Mark Dils of Chongqing, China; Barbara and James Sholly of Warrington, PA; Mark Kerwood of Minnesota; Karl and Jaime Kerwood of Pennsburg, PA; his 3 brothers Francis of Florida; Ted "Bud" of Franklinville, NJ; and Leo Kerwood of Philadelphia; his 2 sisters and their husbands, Carol and Joseph Sherf and Patricia and Joseph Woods, all of Philadelphia. He is also survived by his 20 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing fro 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Thursday October 12, 2006 at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 241 E. Butler Ave. (Route 202 & Sandy Ridge Rd.) New Britain and to his Funeral Mass at 10:00 am on Friday, October 13, 2006 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 235 East State Street, Doylestown, PA 18901. There will be no viewing on Friday morning.
