Bill Mudge was elected to the North Kingstown School Committee in the 2010 election. Not aligned with any major party, Mr. Mudge serves the people of North Kingstown as an Independent.

Bill recently published his list of priorities that he will focus his attention upon when he assumes his duties on the school committee. Those priorities include:

• implementing a "compliance audit" to document the state of the budget as it relates to local and state laws and regulations,
• providing a compliant, transparent and readable school budget to the community, including a school department financial statement, and
• to ensure that our taxpayers monies are spent wisely, efficiently, cost effectively and in a transparent manner.

Beware of politicians when they are asked "Why?" and they say,
"It's all about the kids."

That's your clue that they don't know the answer to your question!

Or when they say, "It's time to move on..."

What they really mean is that it's time to move away from the issues at hand because they (or their political colleagues) may be tainted by the answer!
